Kevin Pietersen and then Strauss, England have managed to win only one international match so far this winter - and that after West Indies made an embarrassing Duckworth/Lewis miscalculation in the first one-day international in Guyana last week.
Vaughan nonetheless does not sense there is anything dramatically wrong - and is backing Strauss to get the team back on track in time to face Australia.
"I hope he is going to be captain for the Ashes and well beyond that, because he creates a stability about the team.
"We just have to get that winning momentum back to the team. It will just happen, as long as they keep doing the right things."
"I believe Strauss is the right man and a very, very good leader," he told Sky Sports News.
